On April 22, the US Embassy in Vietnam coordinated with the Motion Picture Association of America (MPA) to celebrate World Intellectual Property Day on April 26 in Hanoi.
Attending the event were Mr. Le Quoc Minh, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan newspaper; Mr. Marc Knapper, US Ambassador to Vietnam; Mr. Edward Neubronner, Vice President of Motion Picture Association of America, Asia Pacific Region; Ms. Ngo Bich Hanh, Vice President of BHD Co., Ltd; Mr. Bui Nguyen Hung, Chairman of the Vietnam Copyright and Creativity Association; and Mr. Nguyen Hai Binh, CEO of BH Media.
This year, the World Intellectual Property Organization celebrates World Intellectual Property Day on April 26 with the main topic “Women with intellectual property – promoting innovation and creativity”, highlighting the role of women in the creative field, especially in the film industry.
This is an opportunity to honor creators and investors who create valuable works for the public while continuing to protect intellectual property rights in general and copyright in particular effectively, create trust, and encourage the development of creative and cultural industries.
Sharing on the sidelines of the event, Mr. Marc Knapper, US Ambassador to Vietnam, assessed that Vietnam has made great progress in completing legal regulations on intellectual property, as well as signing to accede to international treaties on intellectual property.
